A term invented by the British at the height of their Empire, originally expressed in the initials P.O.S.H. that stood for Port Out, Starboard Home. The most desirable of the accommodations aboard the ships on which they sailed, POSH became the word used to describe all things elegant, carefully tended, and very upper class.
Founded in 1895 as Normart’s, POSH is the third oldest continuously operating business in Fresno, California. Style and elegance are synonymous when shopping at POSH, an extremely elegant shop in which the client is very carefully tended and the atmosphere is classic.
